Jason Mudd, APR
Founder
and CEO
Strength: Creating innovative marketing strategies that
deliver measurable results.
Weakness: Enjoying roast beef sandwiches with his
family.
As the CEO of AXIA, Jason is more than the manager of his award-winning
agency. Much more. By assembling a talented team of marketing experts
to help him create the finest client campaigns, those very pleased clients
have benefited from strong results — earning AXIA a number of industry
honors.
Just a few short years ago, Jason was enjoying a comfortable job as vice
president of marketing. Then one day he had a “light bulb moment” and
decided to start a public relations agency out of a spare bedroom in his
Florida home. Today, AXIA is a full-service
marketing consultancy that provides research, planning, strategy and implementation
to its clients nationally from its three offices. Good move.
The “APR” after Jason’s name marks one more strength
he brings to the table. Jason is an internationally accredited public
relations (APR) practitioner and member of the Public Relations Society
of America. APR members must demonstrate broad knowledge, strategic perspective,
sound professional judgment and a commitment to the ethical practice of
public relations. Ethics are the hallmark of AXIA. At every level, around
every corner.
When you work with Jason, you’ll benefit from his varied experience
with not-for-profit organizations, sports, telecommunications, newspapers
and special event management. He has served signature organizations, including
Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Synovus, General Motors, Florida Marlins,
Hilton, HP, H&R Block, Merck, NASCAR, New York Life, PGA Tour, Pizza Hut,
the late Ray Charles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Wachovia,
Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Christian Broadcasting Network,
among others. In other words, he has a breadth of knowledge in several
industries whose principles and experience can translate into results
for you and your industry.
An eye for innovation in marketing is an important skill for an agency
leader to possess. And Jason’s got it. AXIA’s integrated communications
programs have garnered Jason numerous industry accolades, including a
2004 Dick Pope All-Florida Golden Image Award, Florida’s most prestigious
honor awarded for a public relations campaign. Jason has also received
numerous awards for demonstrating maximum results on a minimum budget.
And in 2005, PR Week named Jason one of the 10 Rising Stars of Public
Relations. If that doesn’t impress his current and potential clients,
Jason also earned a Bachelor of Journalism with an emphasis in advertising
from the acclaimed University of Missouri School of Journalism. Intelligence
plus creativity has proved to be a winning combination for this CEO.
Jason and his wife live on Amelia Island with their children.
He values his time away from the agency and enjoys serving
at Grace Community (Presbyterian) Church and the Rotary Club.
Tabitha J. Mudd
Partner and
CFO
Strength: Providing high-level financial support to
the agency and its clients.
Weakness: Drinking iced caramel coffee while listening
to Bobby McFerrin.
As AXIA’s expert bean counter, Tabitha plays a behind-the-scenes
role that is important to the agency’s continued growth along with
providing clients with the best possible account service. With a background
as accounting manager for companies in the publishing, insurance and property
management industries, she has also served as auditor for a public university
system. Crunching numbers and other fascinating left-brain activities
are second nature to Tabitha. Just ask her to name all 50 U.S. states
in alphabetical order in 20 seconds.
Though Tabitha graduated from the University of Missouri with bachelor’s
degree in accounting and management, she was born and raised a Kansas
Jayhawks basketball fan. Tabitha lives on Amelia Island with her husband
and their children. She and the family are members of Grace Community
(Presbyterian) Church.
