Since 2002, Jason Mudd, APR is the CEO of Axia Public Relations, a public relations firm specializing in national public relations and campaigns. Axia earns industry and national news media coverage for public and private growth companies. He is an Emmy Award-winning, accredited public relations practitioner, speaker, author and entrepreneur and PR Week has named him a “Rising Star” of public relations.

Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is a mark of distinction for public relations professionals who demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to its ethical practice, and who are selected based on broad knowledge, strategic perspective and sound professional judgment. Jason has also earned inbound marketing certification.

He has worked with great brands such as Budweiser, Dave & Buster’s, Fidelity National Financial, FIS, H&R Block, Hilton, HP, Macquarie Group, Miller Lite, Modis, New York Life, Pizza Hut, Ray Charles, Southern Comfort and Verizon, among others.

Jason, who began his career as a journalist, graduated from the acclaimed University of Missouri journalism school with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. After a stint as a PR consultant to what is now Arm & Hammer’s Clean Shower, Jason joined what is now WindStream Communications as its marketing director and a shareholder. Next, he promoted and co-produced  the Emmy-winning Florida Sports Awards, the then-official statewide sports award show, awarding Jaspers to the top professional and amateur athletes. There, Jason worked with key sponsors and professional teams and tours, including American Airlines, General Motors and Wachovia, Miami Heat, Miami Marlins, Miami Dolphins, Orlando Magic, Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and ATP Tour, LPGA Tour, NASCAR, PGA Tour and WTA Tour.

Jason has always fully embraced technology. In 1994, he taught himself HTML and built his first website. By 1995, companies sought him out for his website design services. By 1996, he was helping companies sell products online and providing SEO services. By 2000, he and his colleagues began conceptualizing and planning for the next level of web community and collaboration, “Internet 2.0,” which is now known as “social media.” Today, hs is certified in inbound marketing.

Jason and his wife are 11-year members of Grace Community Church, where they have served in various leadership positions. They homeschool their two elementary-aged children.

At Axia, Jason develops the public relations strategy for the PR firm’s clients and is available to the client leadership teams for consultations, spokesperson training and crisis communications management. He also speaks to business, industry and academic groups about public relations trends and best practices.
